Brenda is an attorney working in the law firm of Morritt Hock & Hamroff’s Trust and Estate Department. Her practice has focused on Estate Administration, Elder Law, Estate Planning and closely related areas from the very beginning of her legal career.

Brenda’s focus is on representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries of a trust or an estate. She has over 23 years of experience advising fiduciaries (Executors and Trustees) on the duties and responsibilities of being a fiduciary. She also represents beneficiaries in ensuring that they receive the assets that they are entitled to in a timely fashion from an estate and/or trust. She also works with our Trust and Estate Litigation Department when matters cannot be resolved amicably.

Brenda earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1997. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the Nassau County and New York State Bar Associations. In addition, she is a member of the New York State Bar Association Elder Law Section’s Subcommittee on Mediation. This organization focuses on alternative dispute resolution in guardianship and contested surrogate matters.

While attending law school, she interned for the Brooklyn Legal Services, Department of the Aging and Brooklyn Law School’s Elder Law Clinic. She was also the recipient of an Everett Fellowship, which allowed her to work with the Samuel Sadin Institute on Law of the Brookdale Center on Aging at Hunter College.

Brenda derives a great deal of personal and professional satisfaction from working closely with seniors and their families during some of the most difficult periods of lives—the loss of a loved one. “My goal is to make the many duties involved in settling an estate as stress-free and efficient as possible for my clients.”

Brenda’s areas of practice include: Trust and Estate Administration, Elder Law, Special Needs and Estate Planning, Guardianship and Estate Litigation.
